DESCRIPTION:The Health Star Rating (HSR) Advisory Committee – the group responsible for overseeing the voluntary implementation of the HSR system – is reappraising the form of the food (‘as prepared’) rules in The Guide for Industry to the HSR Calculator. The ‘as prepared’ provision has been raised by public health and consumer groups as a misleading ruling that needs to be addressed. \nFollowing the public submission process run in May/June 2017\, three stakeholder workshops will be held in Sydney\, New Zealand and Melbourne from late September to mid October 2017. The purpose of the workshops is to consider the pros and cons of potential options to address the ‘as prepared’ issue in the context of the objectives and principles of the HSR system. A discussion paper outlining the options that were raised through the public submission process will be considered at the workshops and will be made available on the HSR website prior to the Sydney workshop.

DESCRIPTION:The Ministry of Health is holding a series of events throughout New Zealand to understand the journey our health system has taken since the launch of the New Zealand Health Strategy a year ago. \nAt these events\, we will work together to understand how we are making a difference for people in the key focus areas of being people-powered\, closer to home\, value and high performance\, one team and a smart system. This will also help us better understand how we can all engage and share progress as we move forward. \n\n\nRegistration is required for entry. Please RSVP to nzhs_strategy@moh.govt.nz as soon as able indicating which workshop you will be attending. Registration closes on Friday 25 August.\n\nRefreshments will be provided during the session\, if you have any specific dietary requirements\, please send these through with your RSVP.
