Easy Balsamic Vinaigrette

Balsamic vinaigarette.

Knowing how to make a basic vinaigrette for salads is one of the best skills a home cook can have. Happily, this is as easy as combining olive oil and vinegar in a jar, adding some salt and fresh-cracked black pepper, and then giving that jar a shake. You barely even need a recipe.


  • ½ cup of olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of fresh cracked black pepper


  1. Throw everything into a jar and screw the lid on tight. Shake shake shake.
  2. Test on a piece of salad leaf and tweak to taste.
