5+ A Day has recently launched a new nutrition education resources for year 9 students. It’s the first time resources have been developed specifically for this age group by the 5+ A Day Charitable Trust who partnered with Plant & Food Research and education experts, Cognition Education Group, for this project.
The inquiry-based resource aims to help students delve deeply into the different kinds of nutrients in food, especially in fruit and vegetables, how nutrients work in our bodies, and why they are so important for our health. The topics in the resource are strongly linked to the Health and Physical Education and Science learning areas of the New Zealand Curriculum.
